Grilled Romaine Salad

2 medium heads of romaine lettuce, cut lengthwise into wedges

Olive oil for brushing

½ cup of shredded parmesan cheese

Lemon wedsges for garnish


2 cloves garlic; minced

3 tablespoons olive oil

Zest of 1 fresh lemon

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

½ teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon brown suger

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon kosher salt

Black pepper to taste


  1. Combine the dressing ingredients in a bowl and whisk the ingredients. Set aside.
  2. Turn the grill on to 350ºF. Be sure that the grill grates are clean.
  3. Lightly coat the romain lettuce with oil, and grill the lettuce until they’re cooked and slightly charred.
  4. Allow the lettuce to cool completely. Drizzle the dressing on top and sprinkle with cheese. Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy.
